chemical manufacturing associations
Significance by turnover (approximately also by employment and value added) in the their industry sector.
There are 10 industry associations responsible for Australia's chemical industry comprising some A$18 billion in turnover and 45000 employed. Their Internet addresses are shown below.
It is important to note some associations represent several industry sectors (by SITC or ANZSIC) and not always only in chemical manufacturing. AVCARE for example represents manufacturers of fertilisers, pesticides and veterinary chemicals; PACIA also represents importers of chemicals and plastic resins processing sectors so that chemical manufacturers represent only one-fifth by turnover of its membership.
Most industry associations are focussed on their key sectors and contributions to advancing the interests of the chemical industry that belie their apparent significance by this pie chart.
There are also peak body groups such as the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Australian Industry Group.
